Table Mountain is provisionally named a New 7 Wonder of Nature

The Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Bangkok is proud to announce and share with you the news that Table Mountain, in Cape Town, has been provisionally named a New 7 Wonder of Nature following a three year global race to choose the world’s seven most wonderful natural sites. The results were announced by the Swiss-based New7Wonders Foundation on 11 November 2011.

For South Africa this means that, pending the final voting validation in early 2012, Table Mountain will take its place as one of the most admired natural attractions in the world.

This milestone is exciting both to the government of the Republic of South Africa and the Embassy because it means that tourism will be further promoted and bring closer our goal of attracting fifteen million tourists each year by 2020.

The Embassy would like to thank you for your part in contributing to this success and special thanks go to those who voted.  We hope that the wonderful relationship between us continues.

Should you require any other information regarding tourism to South Africa please do not hesitate to contact the South African Embassy in Bangkok at: +66 2659 2900 or saembbkk@loxinfo.co.th
